Services
The Veterinary Surgeons Act (1966) stipulates that animals with known injuries or pathologies can only be treated by a Veterinary Surgeon or someone authourised by a Veterinary Surgeon. It is therefore a legal requirement that I obtain verbal or written Veterinary consent prior to your animal's first physiotherapy appointment. This does not apply to maintenance treatment or performance checks
Equine
Whether your horse is a beloved family pet or a competing athlete, physiotherapy can enhance performance and improve behavioural issues by relieving pain and addressing musculoskeletal imbalances. Horses also benefit from rehabilitation following injury or surgery and from therapeutic management of long term orthopaedic conditions.
Other Animals
The principles of physiotherapy assessment and treatment are transferrable to most animals. From cats with spinal injuries or fractures, to a recumbent dairy cow, or lame goat, there's plenty physiotherapy can offer to restore comfort and function.

Canine
Best friends, working dogs and agility athletes can all experience injury or orthopaedic pathology. Physiotherapy treatment can give you and your dog the personalised
therapeutic care and support you need to manage long term orthopaedic and neurological conditions such as Osteoarthritis, Hip and Elbow Dysplasia and Spinal Injuries, as well as restoring normal function with rehabilitation following lameness and surgery.
Agility dogs and handlers
Charly specialises in treating top class agility dogs and their handlers, and those on their journey to agility success. She is the proud sponsors of professional trainer and TEAM GB and TEAM ENGLAND medal winner, STACEY IRWIN, who is a joy to work with and contributes much to Charly's ongoing education in the world of agility.
Whether it is a conditioning work, pre competition check, rehabilitation from injury, poor perforance, or a personalised fitness and maintenance programme for you both, Charly can help.
Rider Assessment
Recent studies have demonstrated that reduced core stability in riders can affect forelimb lameness in horses. Charly offers a unique assessment for riders, using balance equipment and a series of Rider Specific Symmetry Tests. These tests identify areas of asymmetry and weakness before they are transmitted to your horse when you ride. You will receive an individually tailored physiotherapy programme focused on improving your strength and performance in the saddle.
Ridden Assessment
Ridden assessments help to highlight the subtle biomechanical influences you have on your horse. Symmetry marker jackets and slow motion camera with on screen analysis are used to detect subtle imbalances. From this, a specific treatment plan and exercise
programme can be tailored to improve performance, balance and comfort for you and your horse.
